In a single sentence: “A smart teacher who does her job with passion and knowledge!”
I'm writing this review in English for people who, like me, have struggled with learning Russian for a long time.
From our very first meeting, Polina convinced me with her energy.
By the end of our second lesson, she had already decided on how we should proceed.
Slowly, like pouring water into a container filled with small balls, she identified my weak points and started addressing them.
With explanations I could understand, she managed to keep my interest at its peak.
I'm 36 years old and have been a Russian student for about 10 years. I've probably worked with dozens of teachers. Most of my lessons were private and online, but I've also had face-to-face private lessons, attended intensive courses, and participated in group lessons lasting several months. Pretending to learn Russian had almost become my hobby. I was improving my vocabulary and managing everyday conversations somehow. But I started to believe I had reached my limit. With every new teacher, I was almost starting over with the same teaching methods and repeating the same patterns. I learned something from each of them, and I'm thankful for that. But after a while, I would get bored, give up, and say it's impossible! However, the importance of Russian for my career kept pushing me to start again...
I'm definitely not an easy student for anyone. I have a B1+ level vocabulary and maybe A2 level grammar knowledge. Living in Russia for years has made me familiar with many sentences. But for the first time, thanks to Polina, I started to believe in myself for B2 level and even beyond!
As she said in our first meeting, I genuinely feel like she's holding my hand and helping me cross the bridge.
I hope this lengthy review helps those who, like me, have a complicated relationship with Russian Language...
